Updated: Mar 7

What to do and what not to do to make your granite last forever!

Granite

Dos

  • Clean spills as soon as you notice them - granite is penetrable!

  • Polish granite with a professional stone care cleaner when needed to enhance the color of the stone.

  • After one year, your granite tops will need to be re-sealed. This can be done with an impregnator product from Lowe's or Home Depot.

  • Enjoy the beauty of your natural stone!

Don'ts

  • Never use an abrasive cleaner of any kind.

  • Don't let acids (lemon juice, vinegar, ammonia) sit on the granite for long.

  • If you purchased dry treat for your granite, there is no need to seal your granite every year. The dry treat is good for the life of your granite countertops!

  • Do not apply excessive heat for a long period of time.
